After getting some answers concerning the destiny of his granddad and Sensei, Sōken Ishida, Uryū stands and unleashes a compelling measure of Reiatsu. His foe, Mayuri, recognizes the strategy Uryū utilizes as Ransōtengai, which empowers him to overcome Mayuris poison with a specific end goal to recover development. Uryū clarifies that being known as a virtuoso doesnt depict his aptitude and his need to retaliate for his granddad.

Uryū was admonished in his youth by his dad, Ryūken Ishida, for going to see his granddad. Uryūs longing to be solid and turn into a Quincy comes from his craving to spare the dead from Hollows.
